We have maintained a great portion of the
09112001.com memorial website as it was in the hours and days
immediately after the planes struck the World Trade Center towers.
It is important that we keep those initial emotions foremost in our
minds and our hearts as we constantly strive to protect our great
country and prevent such a cowardly attack from ever happening again.

One victim is one too many.
The 09112001.com memorial exists to honor
the innocent victims of the horrific tragedies that occurred on Tuesday,
September 11, 2001 - including their families and friends and those who
continue to deal with the aftermath. Even as the first images of the
cowardly attacks on America were broadcast, we felt driven to do
something to help honor the memory of those who perished. It was also
apparent early on that not enough homage was being given to each
individual victim of this tragedy. Whether intentional or not,
their memory and the life-changing impact their loss would have on those
left behind, were being trivialized in most cases and sensationalized in
others.
This site will be a
living, breathing, and eternal memorial to all affected by this tragedy.
09112001.com is maintained by a group of volunteers all over the world
who share the same desire to honor these victims. We
are asking for your help in the continual construction of this site, including digital
mementos of the victims and the heroes who worked so hard to
save others. Please use any of the contact
information listed throughout the site to send us your thoughts,
prayers, comments and memorials and we will do our best to honor each
victim's memory.

While we will attempt, to the best of our
ability, to build and maintain this memorial with volunteer labor and
donated Internet services, we would be thankful for any donations that
others may offer to help with the maintenance expenses. We will be
seeking private funding sources to insure that the memorial will remain
available and current.

Design goals
09112001.com exists in simple form and
mainly in black and white. We want the emotions captured in
photos, images submitted to us in honor of the victims and heroes, and
the patchwork of memories of those who have passed on, to be the focus
of this memorial.
Never in the history of mankind has an event
been more thoroughly covered than the tragedy of September 11, 2001.
It continues to be a seemingly impossible task to take in all of the
information delivered through the numerous media formats available to us
in this day and age. Our goal in designing many of areas of the
09112001.com memorial will be to capture as much of this information as
possible and assemble it in an organized and readily available manner
for future generations. Somehow, we hope they will be able to
appreciate the magnitude of this tragedy and never forgot those who lost
their lives.
We would appreciate any information you
might be willing to provide us, including your personal photos and
stories. Even though it may take us weeks, months, or years to
assemble the information we might receive, we will not stop in our
effort to honor those who perished in this tragedy and those left to
deal with the aftermath.
